Spring 2021
Student Experience |
“For the Spring 2021 semester, I wanted to participate in the Georgia Legislative Internship Program, but I also couldn’t sacrifice a semester of classes to work full-time. I searched for more internships, and I found an amazing opportunity with the ACLU of Georgia. However, it was unpaid, so I figured I probably have to pick up a second job to pay my school fees, and the thought of juggling school and two jobs was stressing me out. However, I am so grateful I discovered the Experiential Education Stipend because it allowed me to work during the 2021 legislative session without taking on another job. At my internship, I gained hands-on experience working with legislators at the Georgia Capitol and working on important legislation which is essential to my major. The stipend has allowed me to focus on my schoolwork and remain fully engaged at my internship.” |
