Student Experience |
“The Career Center Experiential Education Stipend incentivizes students to pursue hands-on learning opportunities with non-profit or service organizations that they may not be able to afford to take on otherwise. Personally, this stipend helped me pursue an internship with Just City, a criminal justice non-profit in my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. I have been working remotely during the Spring of 2022 as a policy and data analysis intern. This internship has allowed me to apply many of the concepts and skills that have been integral to the Public Policy curriculum, while also working on an issue-area about which I am passionate. Not only has this allowed me to hone my data analysis skills and policy knowledge, I am also able to experience the work environment of a non-profit organization. This is invaluable to me, as I am thinking about pursuing non-profit work as a career after graduation. I highly encourage other Ivan Allen students to apply for this internship if they are interested in working in the public sector, or if they simply want an opportunity to apply what they have learned in their time at Georgia Tech.” |
