Student Experience

“I am thankful to have had the remarkable experience of completing three(3) co-op rotations with The Timken Company, a global manufacturer of bearings and power transmission products. This co-op offered an entirely new learning environment out of the classroom, and in the real world of engineering.

I was able to contribute to engineering projects in many different areas, including customer projects, research, and manufacturing, where I had the fun opportunity of working with industrial robotics which helped to advance my technical skills. Additionally, the networking opportunities and professional development is something I will argue you cannot get more of anywhere other than the workplace. This co-op was a one-year investment of my time, but it was well worth it when I think about the skills I learned and the new person I became as a result.

Back when I was in high school looking at colleges, I knew I wanted to do a co-op, and that was part of the factor in me choosing Georgia Tech. To this day, I am happy to say that Georgia Tech’s co-op program has paid off in terms of personal growth and development as well as helping me to refine my interests so that when I graduate, I can enter the industry with confidence. I am delighted to have earned this scholarship as support for my commitment to becoming the best engineer I can be.”
