Student Experience |
“The time I spent working as a student research engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) allowed me to make real-world connections to the material I learned in the classroom, but even more so it revealed to me how many forms of self-expression there are in a STEM environment. I enjoyed working on the large variation of problems GTRI attempts to solve, and this co-op gave me a lot of freedom to pursue topics I found interesting. Most of all, I learned how a career can be shaped by self-expression, rather than the inverse. I am very thankful for my time at GTRI and for the Wohlford Scholarship, as they both contributed to my ability to pursue and finish my Mechanical Engineering degree at Georgia Tech. The scholarship has also assisted my fulfillment graduate applications, where I hope to pursue a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering in the next couple of years. “ |
