Student Experience

“Every day, I get to collaborate with my high-achieving peers at Georgia Tech. The people surrounding me here inspire me to push the limits of innovation, but throughout my early years in college, comparing myself to others riddled me with Imposter Syndrome. Through my co-op, I had the chance to work with different people in different roles, and I saw how our work intertwined and culminated in the launch of a medical device that saves lives. I gained exposure to new career paths that I didn’t even know existed. I applied my classroom knowledge and saw the social impact of my work. I gained skills, professionalism, and confidence to forge and pursue my own career path. The opportunity to wear many hats and experience several diverse projects through the longer work term of a co-op has opened my eyes to new career goals that are in better alignment with my own values and passions, which has reinvigorated my resolve as I embark on my career post-graduation.  As an out-of-state student, the Wohlford Scholarship has been vital in allowing me to extend my time as an undergraduate, which was necessary to take full advantage of the co-op opportunity.  Thank you to the Briaerean Honor Society for the support in continuing on my academic and professional path.”
