Student Experience |
“Accepting my co-op offer to ATA Engineering was the single greatest decision that I have made in my college career. Prior to ATA, I had no sense of direction regarding what my future career could or should look like. Now, with ATA as the focal point of my resume, all my coursework and previous research experience connects to my co-op work in some way. Every class that I’ve taken since my first rotation has been slightly easier because I have first-hand experience seeing how each equation is used in the real world. Examples include factors of safety and bolt analysis from ME 3180 (I had already done bolt analysis for the ISS) and radiation analysis from ME 3345 and ME 4056 (I had already done a solar radiation study for a glass building); even in this semester’s graduate math class, we are solving the same partial differential equations that form the underlying basis of the Finite Element Methods used at ATA. In fact, I’ve been so impressed by ATA’s co-op program that I volunteered to organize a recruiting information session with the ME honor society and the ME department at large, which was held in late February.” |
