“My experience as a coop in the software development industry has propelled my learning experience as a Georgia Tech student. It allowed me to participate in the development process that is standard in the industry. I also learned new languages, coding standards, and project structures with mentors while actively working on the project together. Very soon after starting, my team treated me like any other member, giving me the freedom and the confidence to complete tasks of my choosing. This has given me a real insight into what a career in software looks like as well as the knowledge I carry into my remaining classes. I am thankful to the Wohlford Scholarship committee for this award. My coop has given me invaluable experience, and this contribution will help me cover expenses during my final academic semesters.” |
