1.) What company have you co-oped with?
2.) What were some exciting assignments you worked on?
I got to work on a high rise building in midtown. From the ideation process, to data collection, to load calculations and drawing up the print and the eventual construction and close out of the building. I also worked on implementing 6 new protective devices for the grid (only 12 in Georgia at the time).
3.) What was your favorite thing about the co-op?
Relating real world experience to in-class theory. The first time I tried to find the current in a line when I knew the live voltage and resistance I yelled out “This is Ohms law”. I made many people laugh that day.
4.) What are your future plans and how did your co-op influence them?
I plan to go into industry to work full time. The co-op showed me more things to do with my degree, jobs that I thought were meant for electrical or civil engineering I could also do.
