Mandatory Grad Co-op Orientations
One on-site or on-line Graduate Cooperative Education orientation is MANDATORY for new program participants. (Not to be confused with Undergraduate C2D2 Orientations). Individual academic departments may host a grad co-op orientation in various locations across campus. Students find these targeted sessions most helpful for questions related to their specific majors.
The online orientation can be found at https://gatech-csm.symplicity.com/ as part of your initial “application” to the graduate co-op program.
- Under “Experiential Education” tab
- Co-op/Internship Program Application Information
- Check “Yes”
- Select “Graduate”
- The Experiential Learning Online Orientation will automatically pop up.
- Review orientation materials
- Read and agree to the “Statement of Understanding”
- Enter date and submit
The Graduate Co-op Program orientation explains benefits and the procedures to participate in graduate co-op and internship assignments. Because international students are eligible and find the program easy to use in order to obtain U.S. work authorization, questions concerning F-1 and J-1 visa holders are addressed in the orientation (Note: attendance at a C2D2 Orientation for undergraduate programs does not satisfy the requirement for grad students to attend a Grad Co-op/Internship Orientation.)
Even if you are not sure you will co-op, interested graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend.
