Career Advising Appointments
Will I be able to make an appointment with my career advisor?
During the spring semester, the Career Center is serving students with a hybrid approach that includes both virtual and in-person appointments per request.
CAREER ADVISING APPOINTMENTS
Appointments with Career Advisors can be made through CareerBuzz by logging in and clicking on the “Request an Advisor Appointment” under My Quicklinks. In the appointment request form, under location, please select “Virtual Advising Appointment”.Appointment Check-In:
At the time of your appointment, please login to CareerBuzz, and in the left-side navigation bar click on the “Counseling Appointment” link and then under “Approved Appointments” click on the blue “Check-In” button. Once you check-in you will be provided with the advisor’s BlueJeans link.
Please be advised that although you might be able to check-in early, the advisor will be available at the exact time of your appointment.
Please note that teleconferencing makes ensuring FERPA privacy difficult. Advisors will conduct video advising in a private location, and we recommend that students do the same to limit the amount of information which could be overheard by others in the vicinity. By agreeing to videoconference-advising, students are confirming they understand this situation.
Advisors are also available for in-person appointments per request. Please email the Career Advisor with which you scheduled a virtual appointment to request an in-person meeting.
VIRTUAL DROP-INS
Virtual drop-ins will be conducted by Career Peer Advisors and Career Advisors.
Virtual Drop-In Hours:

If my internship and co-op is cut short due to my employer’s closure what do I do if my experience is out of state?
I am an international student currently working on a CPT, who should I contact if my current internship/co-op is being impacted?
For any changes in your internship/co-op status that will impact your CPT status please contact the Office of International Education at info@oie.gatech.edu.
What should I do if I have concerns regarding my health and possible exposure to coronavirus at my co-op/internship?
Your health is a PRIORITY. Initiate a conversation with your employer to discuss your concerns. Prepare for the conversation, outline your concerns, and give them the opportunity to address those concerns. Inquire about the possibility of working remotely to achieve the desired scope of work. If remote work isn’t possible with your employer, explore if the internship/co-op could be postponed for a future semester. Before agreeing to a new work term, please consult with your career advisor. If you feel that you need an additional advocate, our office is happy to reach out to employers as well. Email careercenter@gatech.edu and we will be in touch to gather additional information and discuss next steps.
