PRIVACY STATEMENT
Georgia Institute of Technology and Career Services are committed to providing its users good privacy practices regarding electronic personal information. We operate computer systems that are developed by our technical staff and also partner with external organizations for our student tracking system, job listing/resume database and on-campus recruiting services. Information collected by our in-house systems is used to provide and tailor services to our customers. Information is also used to construct aggregate reports that assist us in program planning. Any information shared with third parties is only shared in aggregate form. Some areas of our website collect personal information for the purposes of:
- Authentication: programs that require registration utilize a login name and password to authenticate returning users.
- Identification: some forms on our website may ask for personal information such as your name and email address, so that we can respond to a request or question. Such information is voluntary unless otherwise noted. However, not providing any contact information may make it impossible for us to respond personally to you.
- Statistical Usage: some pages on our website may record your computer's IP address and information about your web browser, in order to provide statistical data on the use of this website. This information is used in aggregate form, and does not personally identify you.
Use of Personal Information
Career Services does not provide your personal information to third parties unless:
- You request this, by specifically making your information available to others. This includes: participating in the resume referral program, submitting application materials online to a specific employer, placing a resume in a resume book, giving someone an access key to your Career Tech Portfolio, posting a job notice, or requesting a booth at one of our career fairs.
- We need to provide your information to a third party to facilitate your participation in a program or service you have requested.
Career Services does not sell personal contact information of students, alumni, employers or anyone else.
NACElink Network
Georgia Institute of Technology is a participant in the NACElink Network.
· Students’ profile data and resumes will reside on NACElink Network servers. NACElink Network servers are hosted by Symplicity Corporation. Students/alumni data may be used in reports developed for internal institutional studies, etc.
· Your primary resume is viewable in the resume database search by employers who specifically recruit at Georgia Institute of Technology. If you do not want employers to view your resume from this search, change the selection to “no” next to the question “Include in Resume Books” (listed above).
· Jobs posted on the NACElink system may or may not be reviewed before posting. Site users are urged to validate job postings and use caution and common sense when applying. Do not disclose social security numbers, credit card information, or bank account numbers to unknown employers.
